How was 2018 for you?
Badin Brothers: Last year’s resolution was to focus on production and developing our sound. With three EPs released in 2018 — and another four earmarked for 2019 — we can be proud of the work achieved this year.
We released our second EP, Caravan, on HOUSEKEEPING RECORDS, featuring acoustic Brooklyn sensation Octopus Kid, supplemented by a remix by Luca M. We have two more EPs coming out before the end of the year, including our wicked collaboration with Luca M on the Dance I Say EP out now on his label, Hey Momma! Records, and a release on Crossing Records in December.
Releasing “Caravan” with Paco Naveira (Octopus Kid). We put a lot of effort, heart and passion into this track; it’s a risky attempt at bridging two musical worlds, acoustic and electronic. The feedback has been tremendous so far!
Our Fabric debut in July was high on our bucket list. As one of our favorite world venues, we were very excited to spin there.
Burning Man never fails, and this year was no exception and with two awesome gigs at Something Spacey and Never Sleep Again.
Playing at Camarote for Carnival in Rio with Black Coffee was an amazing experience and what an atmosphere.
We finished the year with a big show on the December 16 in London with the HOUSEKEEPING RECORDS family, and a cheeky Amsterdam gig on the 29th of December at revered records shop, Mary Go Wild!
We didn’t travel this year as much as the previous ones. Our focus on production meant that we needed to spend a lot of time in the studio! Something’s got to give.
Song of the year?
Tale of Us – Energy 53 (Renaissance Remix). Tale of Us did such a slick job with this old classic! We heard it at every other party at Burning Man!
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Aim high, be rigorous with our music. Continue building on our efforts and developing our passion.
