The Postal Service’s Documentary In Theaters This Week

everything will change

On November 14, there will be a series of special preview screenings of Everything Will Change, the feature-length documentary concert film of The Postal Service’s recent performances at the Greek Theater in Berkely, California. Footage for the film was captured over two nights during the group’s recent reunion tour. Directed by Justin Mitchell, Everything Will Change feature interviews, backstage footage of the band and extensive footage from the two performances.

The film is the culmination of The Postal Service’s 2013 reunion, in which the duo of Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and Dntel’s Jimmy Tamborello reissued their 2003 album, Give Up, and embarked on a worldwide tour, their most extensive string of live performances since their one-off record.

Sub Pop will co-present the screenings with Origami Records (Burbank), Noise Pop (San Francisco), Sonic Boom Records, KEXP & KNDD (Seattle), Reckless Records (Chicago), M-Theory Records & 91X (San Diego), and Good Records (Dallas).

Everything Will Change will be available on DVD/Blu Ray on November 24 on Sub Pop. Check out the November 14 screening venues below.

Download: Dntel / “Bright Night”

Dntel is the alias of Jimmy Tamborello, who many will know for his work as one half of The Postal Service. Dntel’s Aimlessness is out today on Pampa Records, and the new album finds him collaborating with Baths, Nite Jewel and Geotic (side project of Baths’ Will Wisenfeld). “Bright Night” is a woozy slab o’ glitchy instrumental brilliance that’s one of the standout tracks on the new album. Download and enjoy.
