British house duo Basement Jaxx will release their seventh album, Junto (which means together in Spanish), on August 25. News of the album’s release comes after the twosome, which is comprised of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, dropped their very decent new single “Unicorn.” The Jaxx will play a series of live dates (see below) and will play the opening party at Space in Ibiza on May 25 in addition to spinning monthly at the famed White Isle institution. Obligatory press release gush from Simon Ratcliffe: “With this album, we wanted to do something that felt more at one with the world.” Uh, sure.

Global nightclub chain Pacha, which launched in Ibiza in 1967 and has opened franchises in major cities around the world including New York, Munich and Moscow, will open its latest club in Poznan, Poland this month. The festivities will take place during a weekend of events happening on January 31 and February 1. Pacha favorites Wally Lopez, Tristan Garner and Tyron Dixon will bring their White Isle magic to the decks for the opening celebrations. Pacha Pozan, which is located on Paderewskiego Street, promises to bring “glamour and amusement” to Pozan.
While the venue’s main room will be helmed by big-name jocks, other styles of music will be played on the “experimental” funky room and VIP areas.
Pacha Poznan will open Wednesdays through Saturdays beginning January 31st. Opening hours will be from 10pm to 5-6am.
After months of hype and speculation, Giuseppe Cipriani’s new Ibiza club, Booom!, will open its doors on July 9. “I am looking forward to a summer of great music, wonderful artists and the energy of this terrific island. We put a lot of love in this project and I hope people will feel it!” said Cipriani in a statement. Booom! partner and music programmer, formerly of Pacha, Danny Whittle added, “It has been such a pleasure for myself, Mark and our team to work with Giuseppe on Booom! It’s been a long road but now we are so ready for a summer of great music, company and fun.”
The club has announced its residencies and should attract large crowds: Eject with Cazzette and guests (Monday); Chaos Colores with Behrouz, Tom King and guests (Tuesday); Sexy by Nature with Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano (Wednesday); Circus with Yousef and guests (Thursday); TBC (Friday); Defected in the House (Saturday); and Vagabundos with Luciano and guests (Sunday).
While Booom! will cater to big spenders, they maintain that “the club positions itself as a premium, top-level venue but is not an exclusive, VIP-only club: only 30% of its full capacity will be allocated to tables. The emphasis will remain on the dance floor.”
