Erol Alkan Plots Brief April U.S. Tour

It’s been said that beggars can’t be choosers. So that’s why we’re pleased to report that DJ/producer/Phantasy label boss Erol Alkan has confirmed a limited series of U.S. dates in April. Though the tour only consists of five dates, plus a gig in Vancouver, it will at least give a few of his American followers a chance to take in his famed genre-crossing DJ sets.

In addition to his stateside trek kicking off April 9 at Verboten in Brooklyn and concluding at The Electric Pickle in Miami on April 18, Alkan is looking at a busy summer, hitting major festivals including Pangaea Festival in Manchester, Sonar Festival in Barcelona, Secret Solstice Festival in Revjavik and Bestival in Isle Of Wight.

Alkan’s full U.S. dates are below.

DJs React to Obama Victory on Twitter

No matter where you live in the world you were probably glued to your screen a few hours ago, watching pundits cover last night’s U.S. presidential election as results slowly came in state by state. While President Barack Obama was able to defeat Mitt Romney, the election magnified the division and underscored the political gridlock that is now embedded in America. The election shows how divided Americans are in terms of ideology, but when it comes to politics most DJs tend to lean toward the left. Many of these DJs were on Twitter last night: some provided serious insight about Obama’s reelection; others gleefully poked fun about the process and the candidates. The tweet that got the most traction belonged to Diplo. Have a look below at his tweet and read what other DJs had to say.
