Dorian Concept Mounts U.S. Tour

The Austrian producer and composer Oliver Johnson, best known by the artistic alias Dorian Concept, has gained renown for a sound that blends an eclectic array of influences. Besides electronic music, his work is informed by everything from hip-hop and free jazz to funk and classical music, and his keyboard skills have previously earned him a spot as touring keyboardist with Flying Lotus. But it’s his own music that will be coming to the fore when Dorian Concept launches a short North American tour this month.

New York City, Austin, Raleigh, Atlanta, San Francisco and L.A. are all on the itinerary for the Ninja Tune recording artist. His last album was 2014’s Joined Ends, but who knows how much further the Dorian Concept approach has evolved since then? You can find out by attending the shows, of course. But you can also follow his exclusive tour diary right here on Big Shot, where he’ll be offering up his intimate thoughts on things day at the conclusion of his excursion.
