Online music retailer Beatport will begin accepting bitcoin as payment from customers beginning in June. The store says it is the first dance music retailer to do so.
In related news, Beatport has partnered with Crypto.com to release an NFT created by Berlin-based Leif Podhajsky, Music for Future Dance Floors, to be released on April 23.
The collection will feature exclusive, unreleased tracks from Sasha, Charlotte De Witte, Boyz Noize, Pan-Pot, a new collaboration between Nic Fanciulli and Alec Monopoly called Sold As Seen, and a bonus track from Sama’ Abdulhadi.
This rare collection, the first of a series of A/V compilations planned from Beatport, will also feature emerging artists including Alignment, Third Son, Anna Lann and Risa Taniguchi that will join each established star in mini drops priced at $303 each. All ten tracks will then be packaged with bonus material as a 10-of-10 auction, and will include the bonus track, four guest passes to one show for each artist and extra visual content. A portion of the proceeds will be contributed to charity, including a carbon offset donation from Beatport.
