OC & Verde 5 Tracks of the Moment

OC&Verde

Manchester-based house duo OC & Verde — Ben O’Connor and Jon Verde — burst upon the global dance-music scene in 2016 with their sublime debut stormer “Symphony” issued on Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound. The monstrous tech-house masterpiece laid the groundwork for subsequent releases on Suara and Glasgow Underground as well as remixes for Selador Records and Yoshitoshi.

Following the release of their Solstice/Horizon EP on Steve Lawler’s ViVA Limited in March, the duo just dropped a pair of hot bangers, “Navajo”/”Mañana,” on iVAV Recordings (ViVA MUSiC’s techno sub label) that reflect their musical maturation.

As for their upcoming schedule, it’s packed! In the next few months OC & Verde are booked to play clubs and festivals all over the world, and they are expected to unveil collaborations with Eli & Fur and Veerus.

During a few rare moments of downtime the boys told us about fresh tracks they’re rocking in the clubs.

OC & Verde play Off & On in Beirut on July 7, Gorilla in Manchester on July 14, and Beatherder Festival in the UK on July 15.

Enrico Sangiuliano – “Astral Projection”
Huge track from Enrico Sangiuliano. Adam Beyer has been hammering it. Feels kind of trancey on the break but full on techno when it drops. Would put money on this being a Beatport number 1.

Dast – “Sitting in the Sun”
Love the vocal sample on this; real big for us at the moment.

Veerus – “Organum”
All about the bassline on this one. Heavy! Love this guy’s productions.

Obscure Shape & SHDW – “Himmel Und Erde”
This has a kind of an old-school vibe to it. Really goes down well in a big room. Super quick at 133 BPM too. Proper track.

Hellomonkey, Hiboo – “Brain Freeze”
Love the synth on this. Quirky and menacing. We’ve been playing this a lot.
