George Kwali 5 Tracks of the Moment

George Kwali

Brighton-based DJ/producer George Kwali turned heads last year courtesy of underground anthem “Crank It,” an absolutely killer collaboration he cut with homie Kideko.

Kwali is back in fine form with a fiery follow-up, “Dance With You,” which just dropped on TMTR. Brimming with big beats, ballsy basslines and crafty female vocal samples, it’s looking like 2017 will be another huge year for Kwali.

Ahead of a flurry of DJ dates in the UK that extends into the spring, we caught up with the up-and-comer and asked him to tell us about his five tracks of the moment.

Catch George Kwali play b2b with Kideko and guests at The Arch in Brighton on March 11.

Mele – “Sleepless”
One of my favorite club tracks at the moment. I love what Mele has done with the vocal. It’s nice to hear some darker stuff from him!

Detlef – “Pump Up”
This guy has been on fire recently and this track has been a staple in my sets over the last few weeks. It always goes off – 2017 is looking big for Detlef.

Nick Rockwell – “Work That Shit”
This track is so badass, I love the simple bassline and catchy vocal.

Solardo – “The Aztecs”
I saw Solardo play at The Arch in Brighton recently and this tune absolutely blew the roof off. Very excited to hear the new music that these guys come with this year!

Midland – “Final Credits”
I first heard this played on BBC Radio 1 by MistaJam. I love the whole vibe of this song and the catchy G-funk top lead is wicked.
