How Was 2011 For You, Clubfeet?

Dec 9th, 2011 | By | Category: 2011 Recap

Clubfeet are a synth-pop band of the highest order, with roots in Cape Town and Melbourne. This year saw the release of “Edge of Extremes,” which was the first single from their new Gold on Gold video project in collaboration with acclaimed Sydney videographer Alex Goddard. And let’s not forget newly released remix package of “Last Words,” featuring remixes by Dimitri in Paris, Andrew Maury of RAC, and The C90s.
Keep your eyes on these guys in 2012.

How was 2011 for you?
Like a 1996 Calvin Klein campaign. Filled with half-naked beautiful people, and smelling like watermelon.

Highlights?
Drinking Old Fashioned’s at the bar at the Standard in LA after getting lost in the fog and dark on Mulholland drive. Watching the Gold on Gold Project unfold, with friend and filmgod Alex Goddard. What a maverick! Yves finally returning those videotapes from 2002. Bennington and Monty walking into a packed CMJ party to hear The Knocks spinning an unreleased demo. Sweethearts… And thieves.

Lowlights?
Getting lost in the fog and dark on Mullholland Drive (listening to acid jazz). Sebastian falling asleep in his tan-bed (not the first time!) Lost South African passports in the mail. One of our producer’s family’s ships getting taken by Somali pirates.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
2011 was all about androgynous child supermodels, mega yachts, tambourines and dream-catchers, but 2012 for us will be the year we promise to:

Drink more Martini’s
Get buzz-cuts
Watch VHS stocks bounce back
Finish Clubfeet’s spanking new album, tentatively titled Heirs & Graces or Wet & Mild
