How was 2011 for you?

Pretty uppy-downy, but mostly up. I had a wretched summer and have had a bitchin’ fall. At least we’re on the upswing.

Highlights?
Posing nude for my husband, Neil Gaiman, at the Museum Of Fine Arts, surrounded by other nudes, painted by Degas. Playing at Occupy Wall Street. Finally seeing Jeff Mangum live in concert. Dueting with Peter Yarrow and The Blue Man Group all in one night.

Lowlights?
Getting so sick in Edinburgh in August that I couldn’t get out of bed to see much fringe theater. Dealing with boring legal adult shit. Watching my loved ones getting ill and feeling helpless. Admitting to myself that two-day hangovers are now commonplace and my own body is aging and needs more care.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To unconditionally smother my loved ones with love, without second guessing. For real. Seeing death all year has taught me that. Smother.
