Earlier in the year we checked in with London-based Max Cooper. Blessed with phenomenal turntable skills (he was featured in a BBC mixing tutorial in 2007 and helmed a monthly scratching tutorial on Sky Channel’s Propeller), he’s parlayed his abilities into top-notch production work, recently remixing the likes of Hot Chip and Au Revoir Simone. And the real kicker is that the guy is also a geneticist! Fortunately for us, Cooper found time to pop into the studio and lay down this exclusive 19-track Big Shot Guest Mix, which also includes a few lovely edits made by the man himself. Enjoy!
How was 2009 for you?
It’s been a busy year of music, everything else fell off the cliff of productivity. All triggered by signing to Traum at the start of the year.
Highlights?
Remixing lots of my favorite acts: Extrawelt, Abe Duque, Hot Chip, Peaches, Dominik Eulberg, Au Revoir Simone.
Lowlights?
My arm fell off.
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To perch on a turntable at a gig and spin round and round (I think it can be done).
