Single Review: Son Of Kick / “ByrdKick” / “Hustle” (Botchit & Scarper)

Son Of Kick is a French DJ/producer living in London. With influences ranging from breakbeat to hip-hop and electro to dubstep, Son Of Kick has so far collaborated with Blu Rum 13, Jenna G, N’fa, Two Tokez, and RQM. There are a variety of remixes here, but the original versions of “Arabyrd” and “Illegal Immigrant” are easily fresh enough on their own—heavy (real), electo-style beats with hip-hop attitude and very cool vocals. This is very high caliber stuff. We will be hearing a lot more from this guy.
