Compilation review: Brodinski / ‘Bugged Out Presents Suck My Deck’ (New State Music)

French producer Brodinski is in the mix on the latest installment of the popular Ivan Smagge curated Suck My Deck series for Bugged Out.
Although he is associated with the slew of indie-dance remixes he’
s done, Brodinski will never be mistaken for Daft Punk or Justice. His love of driving underground tech house comes through loud and clear on this diverse 24-track compilation where, in true Jeff Mills fashion, he often incorporates as little as a minute of any given track to create a much broader spectrum of sounds and textures. Because of that, the focus here stays firmly planted in the groove with no one track hogging up too much of the spotlight on this well-balanced mix.
